The ultimate, and distinctive, fuel-efficient vehicle! This beautiful driver has been completely rebuilt over the past ten and a half years I have owned it, with significant upgrades to make it reliable and perform well (i.e. single Weber downdraft carburator, custom header, electronic ignition, new wiring throughout, the best Michelins available in that size). Nothing's been missed. The body, vinyl, glass, and mechanics are all in tip-top shape. There are too many new parts to list.
This car draws attention wherever it goes, not only for its looks but for its sound, inside and out. The inside features a custom-amplified sound system complete with subwoofer that makes onlookers do a double-take - how can that much sound come from such a small car? But the sweetest sounds of all are on the outside, and come from the tailpipe as you pull away - I've captured the classic sound that makes even Porsche owners drool.
To get the authentic wire wheels, I replaced all of the suspension components with rebuilt 1976 units (1976 was the last year that British Leyland offered true wire wheels on the Midget). The car also includes a spare long block (in good shape) and other spare parts, as well as the full tonneau cover (rare) and of course the convertible top storage cover. (For those who don't know - as I didn't when I bought the car - the tonneau cover protects the inside of the car from weather and other insults even when the top is down).
And, for the record, I am six feet tall, and get in and out of the car quite easily (believe it or not)!
I am asking $10,000 for the car (or best offer). I will consider a trade in whole or in part for a crossover, SUV, or other family-friendly vehicle (I now have a fifteen-month-old daughter at home, and much as I love the car, she comes first! - smile). In the meantime, if you are in or near the Houston area (the car is actually in Sugar Land) and wan
